Vale of Glamorgan
The exhibition includes a colourful mix of 95 wall-hung works and a slide show of many more striking images.
The variety of photographic works capture local scenes, landscapes and seascapes, portraits and insects in macrophotography. The club has also included work on the theme of outer space, coinciding with the recent anniversary of the moon landings.
Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet Member for Housing and Building Services and Barry Town Council Mayor attended the opening last Saturday.
“Today, many photographs are hidden away on smartphones and suchlike. It’s brilliant to have these prints on display, bringing the photographs and the Council’s gallery to life.” - Cllr Wilkinson.
Barry Camera Club is keen to invite anyone with an interest in photography to join. They meet weekly and have an active programme of practical photographic sessions, workshops, day-trips, speakers and competitions. Founded in 1901, it is the oldest active camera club in Wales.
