The registration of deaths, marriage and civil partnership notices, births and still births are by appointment only, Monday to Friday. 

 

Bilingual appointments are available.

Birth registration appointments can be carried out at the Register Office, Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry CF63 4RU 

 

If you need to register a death that has happened in the Vale of Glamorgan, a Registrar will call you in the next few days.

Please note: no registration services can be accessed at West House in Penarth. All registration services for the Vale of Glamorgan are in Barry.

Visitors to the Civic Offices should report to the reception desk on the ground floor, where you will be directed to the Register Office.

Statutory registration services are overseen by the General Register Office (GRO) which is part of Her Majesty's Passport Office and oversees civil registration in  England and Wales. There are equivalent offices for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
