If you’re planning to get married or start a civil partnership, you’ll need to give legal notice at your local register office. If you live in the Vale of Glamorgan, that means that you’ll need to make an appointment to visit the Civic Offices in Barry. This is the case wherever the ceremony will be held.
Please be aware that the law is about to change. The minimum age for marriage and civil partnerships will raise from 16 to 18 27th February 2023. This will affect couples who have given notice of marriage before the law changes. If you have any questions about this, please contact us on registrationservice@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk
