Vale of Glamorgan
The evening recognised the achievements of individuals involved in two projects – Coaches of the Future and Young Sports Ambassadors.
Coaches of the Future aims to inspire a generation of young coaches and encourages young people to become more active, and Young Sports Ambassadors is part of a national programme which aims to empower and inspire young people to become leaders through sport.
The Welsh Olympian and boxer Rosie Eccles also joined the celebrations at the Memo Arts Centre.
Cllr Gwyn John, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Well-being, said: “It was a privilege to attend the celebration honouring these ambitious young people. “These initiatives open a world of training and development opportunities, helping young people across the Vale become leaders and inspire others to get involved in sports. “Their success reflects the Council’s commitment to improving well-being, making the Vale a fantastic place to live by empowering youth to lead healthier, more active lives.”

These programmes have now also contributed to over 1200 voluntary hours.
