Llantwit Leisure Centre UpgradesThe changing rooms and toilets at Llantwit Major Leisure Centre have been fully refurbished, including the introduction of new water-saving showers and low-energy lighting.

The installation of a new high performance, energy efficient air handling unit at Llantwit Major Leisure Centre will now help keep the area around the pool and the changing rooms warm and dry year-round.

Barry Leisure Centre has also seen major improvements to its Hammer Strength Gym, as it has been transformed into a fully accessible state-of-the-art functional training zone with a new stretch area and improved resistance equipment.

Cllr Gwyn John, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Well-being, said: “These upgrades mark a significant step forward in ensuring that our leisure facilities are continuing to meet the needs of all residents.

“The eco-friendly changes at Llantwit Leisure Centre are an important part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and align with the Council's Project Zero ambitions to become carbon-neutral by 2030.

“We know from our work speaking with residents that access to a diverse range of leisure facilities is important, and we are dedicated to providing high-quality spaces that promote healthier, more active lifestyles for everyone in the Vale of Glamorgan."

Some of the improvements to Llantwit Major and Barry Leisure Centres were part-funded by grants from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
