Vale Family Information Service Hosts Free Christmas Parties
The Council’s Family Information Service (FIS) Team spread some Christmas cheer earlier this month as they hosted two Christmas parties for families in the Vale on December 5.
Over 500 children, parents, and carers attended the free events at the Memo Arts Centre, Barry, taking part in several festive activities organised by a number of service providers that operate across the Vale.
Organisations such as Sports and Play, Families First, the Vale Youth Service, Communities for Work Plus, Vale Unpaid Carers and many more supported the event and engaged with families about their services, whilst offering some lovely Christmas activities.
Children had the chance to meet Father Christmas, get their face painted, and participate in a range of festive themed arts and craft activities.
Kelly Fenton, Outreach and Information Officer for the FIS Team who also organised the events, said: “Feedback from parents and providers has been incredibly positive.
“It was so lovely to see so many families getting into the Christmas spirit and have the opportunity to find out more about the services which are available to them, whilst also having a great festive time with their children.”
The FIS connects families to services and support, including childcare, help with childcare costs, family support services, and activities for children and young people.
