Vale of Glamorgan
Deputised by Councillor Elliot Penn, the Mayor will undertake various procedural and ceremonial roles on behalf of the County during her year in office.
As Mayor and Deputy, Councillor Aviet and Councillor Penn will also continue to raise funds for the Mayor's foundation. The Foundation offers financial support to community groups, the voluntary sector and not for profit organisations towards the cost of initiatives that help to support the Council’s vision of 'Strong Communities with a Bright Future'.
Councillor Julie Aviet, Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be able to represent the Vale of Glamorgan as Mayor. “I am proud of our beautiful beaches, parks, countryside and our people in all their diversity. “During my term in office, I hope to convey two messages: have pride in where you live and have empathy for others.”
