Vale of Glamorgan Council agrees actions for the year ahead

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has agreed its Annual Delivery Plan (ADP) for the coming year, setting out what the organisation will focus on for the next 12 months to achieve its four wellbeing objectives.

    Vale of Glamorgan

The wellbeing objectives are:

  • To work with and for our communities
  • To support learning, employment and sustainable economic growth
  • To support people at home and in their community
  • To respect, enhance and enjoy our environment

This year’s plan also highlights three critical challenges which have been identified as areas of priority for the Council and that are relevant to all our services. The three critical challenges are:

  • Cost-of-living crisis
  • Project Zero
  • Organisational resilience

The plan was endorsed at a meeting of the Council on Monday 6th March and was informed by comprehensive public consultation.

Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, said: “This is an ambitious plan that sets out what will be the key focus for the Council over the coming year.

“We are determined to continue to provide support for our residents as we navigate our way through the cost-of-living crisis and continue to work towards our goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

“Organisational resilience to us means looking at how we continue to deliver vital services in response to rising costs and pressures.

“As an organisation we have faced many challenges over the past few years but throughout we have maintained our focus on our vision of building strong communities with a bright future.

“We want the Vale of Glamorgan to be a great place to live, work and visit.”

Progress against the objectives set out in the plan will be reported to the Council’s committees on a quarterly basis to provide elected members with an oversight and the opportunity to scrutinise this work.

Members of the public can also attend committee meetings and put questions to elected members as well as participating in engagement and consultation throughout the year, which helps shape the Council’s work.
