The Murchfield courts project forms the second phase of the works planned for this area along with the nearby playground which has recently been upgraded.

In attendance will be Cllr Mark Wilson who said: “This is an excellent opportunity to share our ideas with the wider public and discuss their thoughts on these proposals.

“The redevelopment of Murchfield courts will provide people with a place to exercise, unwind and participate in various sporting activities.

“We welcome the opportunity for residents to contribute to this project that will see the regeneration and enhancement of a well-worn part of the recreation area.”

The Vale of Glamorgan Council secured public open space and public art section 106 funding to implement environmental improvements at the Murchfield recreation ground.

This will enable the Council to refurbish the area to provide a creative, imaginative, active recreational space providing opportunities for the whole community.

Cllr Rhiannon Birch Cabinet Member for Education Arts and the Welsh Language said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to engage with sporting activities and appreciate the open space and artistic designs and architecture.

Combining Public Art and Public Open Space Section 106 developers funding will enable contractors to create an interactive, family space, that all generations can visit and enjoy.”
