In January the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Cllr Susan Lloyd-Selby was delighted to attend a meeting to hear about the work of the Men’s Forum in Barry.
The group meets every Thursday from 9.30-12.00 to enjoy refreshments and a programme of talks.
It welcomes any men who may be feeling lonely or socially isolated (particularly older men)- please contact Alan Morgan for details (01446 624364).
The Mayor also attended an exhibition entitled Ordinary People-Underground at Art Central Gallery to mark this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day.
At the event, Councillor Lloyd-Selby spoke about the importance of marking the annual memorial day and the Council’s continual commitment to raising awareness about The Holocaust during WW2 and the genocides that have occurred since.
She added “Ordinary people were perpetrators, bystanders, rescuers, witnesses- and victims. We are all ordinary people today who can be extraordinary in our actions. We can all make decisions to challenge prejudice and stand up to hatred”
