The Council’s planning enforcement team visited the site on 20 December 2023 after receiving complaints from residents.

Council officers confirmed that operational works were being undertaken on the site which require planning permission and due to the potential impact on biodiversity and archaeology which may exist at the site and potential contamination of the area are considered unacceptable.

The Council considered these works to be unacceptable and issued the notice on 21 December 2023 which requires these works to cease immediately. This notice is effective until 18 January 2024. An Enforcement Notice has also been issued which takes effect on 19 January 2024 and requires the works to permanently cease.

This action does not prevent the landowner from implementing the recent planning permission granted for the erection of fencing at the site. There are two other applications for planning permission at the site which are still to be determined.
