Council seeking feedback on Digital Strategy
The Council has developed a new Digital Strategy, to build on work that has been undertaken in recent years to modernise, make its services more efficient and ensure residents are at the heart of what the Council does and how it works.
The strategy has four key themes and a series of commitments to be delivered over the next five years.
The Strategy’s first theme is around Community & Involvement which seeks to ensure that communities are listened to, their needs understood and that services are accessible and inclusive.
Elsewhere the work will focus on how the Council works to successfully deliver digital services and how this delivers results for colleagues and residents.
The Strategy also has a strong theme around developing the workforce to make sure that they have the skills, confidence and tools to deliver for citizens.
Finally, the way that data is used to inform the way the Council makes decisions will be given particular prominence in the years to come.
Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, said: “I am confident that through our ambitious digital vision and the commitments contained in this strategy, the way we work and the services we provide to our residents will be more effective, relevant and based on evidence.”
Residents are invited to share their views on the contents of the strategy, which can be viewed at participate.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/digital before 8 September.
Feedback can be submitted through an online survey, by calling the Council’s contact centre on 01446 700111 or by emailing consultation@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk
Hard copies of the strategy and survey are also available on request.
The Council’s Cabinet will review the feedback on the draft strategy before a final strategy is agreed early in the autumn.
