Vale of Glamorgan Council asks for residents’ views on Annual Delivery Plan

The Annual Delivery Plan (ADP) details the work that will be undertaken over the next year to deliver on the Council’s four key objectives.

They are:

  • To work with and for our communities
  • To support learning, employment and sustainable economic growth
  • To support people at home and in their community
  • To respect, enhance and enjoy our environment

The consultation on the annual delivery plan will run for a period of seven weeks, until 8 January 2023.

 

During that time the Council will be seeking feedback on whether these objectives are still relevant. 

 

As well as the four key objectives this year's plan details three critical challenges which the Council feels are a priority for the next 12 months.

 

They are:

  • The Cost of Living Crisis – supporting our residents, local organisations and business in the face of rising costs in particular around energy, food and housing.
  • Project Zero – responding to the climate and nature emergencies and delivering the commitments in our Climate Challenge Plan.
  • Organisational Resilience – ensuring that we can continue to adapt in the face of adversity and provide our services despite the financial pressures and workforce challenges that we and many of our partner organisations face 

The actions listed in the plan will contribute to meeting these critical challenges in addition to contributing to the overall objectives. 

Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, said, “We know the next year will be extremely challenging for us all, but we will continue to confront the effects of the cost of living crisis, the significant pressures on many of our services and remain focused on responding to the climate and nature emergencies.  None of these tasks will be easy, but all of them are vitally important if we are to continue to meet the needs of current and future generations.”
