Vale of Glamorgan
Until recently, the exhibition was hosted online. It now showcases over 80 individual works from Vale residents, as well as artists further afield. The works on show were created during the COVID-19 lockdown and are a mix of work from paintings, prints, sculptures, textiles, photography and music. The work creatively captures individuals’ experiences, challenges and memories of the past year.
Cllr Kathryn McCaffer, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Arts and Culture said, “The arts have played an enormous role in helping people to cope with the effects of the pandemic. Many have felt alone, confined, and unable to communicate with family members, let alone with the wider community. “Streamed arts opportunities have been a saving grace for many including our online arts exhibition. We are delighted that Art Central has now reopened to the public, and is able to showcase much of the work from the original virtual exhibition.”
