Vale of Glamorgan
Students across the County travelled to schools or were sent their outcomes via email.
They were decided on a range of school-based assessments as exams could not take place because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cllr Lis Burnett, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration, hailed pupils for their achievements following a difficult 18 months.
“I’d like to recognise the achievements of GCSE pupils across the Vale who received their results today,” she said. “The last year and a half has been a difficult period for everyone, but it has been particularly hard on pupils working towards qualifications. “They have had to cope with extraordinary circumstances, and in many cases have overcome adversity to achieve excellent grades. “I’d like to wish everyone who collected their results every success on the next step of their journey."
