Tutenkhamun ArtThe competition will see 70 works displayed on fences, gates, walls and in shop windows covering three miles of the village.

The aim is to find a letter on each of the 70 pieces, re-arranging them into a phrase. Participants will then be entered into the Art Group’s free prize draw, with the chance to win art materials.

Ten percent of the proceeds from any painting sales will be donated to the Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern, in thanks for their work supporting vulnerable residents.

The Dinas Powys Art Group has continued to meet virtually throughout lockdown, exploring the works of artists from Salvador Dali to Kyffin Williams. So far, 400 pieces of artwork have been produced by the 24 members, ranging from watercolours, local landscapes and abstract works.

Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Kathryn McCaffer said, “The trail will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work of the Dinas Powys Art Group, who’s annual exhibition hasn’t been able to go ahead due to Covid-19.

“Nevertheless, local residents will still be able to enjoy the work of the group, and better still, it will provide some much-needed outdoor activity for families throughout the half term holidays.”

Residents are reminded that this is a local event, and due to the Firebreak restrictions should not travel from other locations to Dinas Powys to take part. The Art Trail map and details of the competition can be found on:
