Vale of Glamorgan
Part of widespread improvement work taking place at similar sites throughout the County, the new play area will feature a variety of swings, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, two multi-use units, a seesaw, springers, play panels, picnic bench, seats and bins. Llangan Community Council helped arrange a consultation exercise with local residents, which was conducted online, to ensure their views were reflected in the final design. Work is due to start in January and is expected to take around a month to complete.
Cllr Kathryn McCaffer, Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Arts and Culture, said: “This work at Treoes play area will transform an outdated play area into a modern space full of the latest equipment suitable for children of a variety of ages. “This is part of a substantial programme of work that has seen play areas across the Vale upgraded over the last few years. Treoes play area is just one of several play areas that will be updated in the near future. It is so important to allow children the ability to play safely outdoors.”
