Dinas Powys Primary School storm the stage

Pupils from Dinas Powys Primary School’s Shakespeare Group recently gave a performance of the Tempest, as part of the Shakespeare for Schools Festival.

Under the close direction of Year 3 teacher and accomplished director in her own right, Mrs Ryn Harries, the Year 6 pupils performed the drama at the Riverfront Theatre in Newport. 

The cast were subsequently invited to represent Wales, performing at the Gala dinner at the Senate House, University of London. Twenty students undertook a ‘Flashmob Production’, again to high acclaim. 

Headteacher, Julie Thompson, praised their efforts: “We are extremely proud of those who took part in the shows. To have represented their country in the performing arts is a true honour, providing an experience of a lifetime."
