Vale of Glamorgan
A total of six boxes of food, festive fayre and toiletries were taken to the Vale Food Bank, which will be distributed to families in need in the Vale of Glamorgan.
They also raised an impressive £220 in donations, which was used to purchase toys for children in the Vale as part of the annual Big Wrap Toy Appeal.
The Big Wrap works aims to provide gifts to children from birth to 19 years old who are at risk of receiving nothing or very little at Christmas. The Vale Foodbank works in a similar vein, providing emergency food to people in crisis.
Both organisations rely on donations.
“Sadly, many families and youngsters will go without this Christmas. In many cases, this will be a ‘hidden’ hunger or want, unbeknownst to those around them. “We are incredibly lucky in the Vale to have such a generous, tight-knit and supportive community, who reach out to those in need. Thank you to all who got involved, your donations will be greatly appreciated.” - Cabinet Member for Social Care and Health, Cllr Ben Gray.
