Our Values are:
These values describe our professional behaviours in how we approach our work, deal with each other and our service users. The values have been informed by a range of staff engagement activity.
The Well-being of Future Generations Act also puts in place a 'sustainable development principle' which tells organisations how to go about meeting their duty under the Act. Doing something in accordance with the sustainable development principle means that we must act in a manner which seeks to ensure that the needs of the present are met without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. When drafting the plan, we have considered the five ways of working that demonstrate sustainable development. We are now working to embed this into the way we work more widely across the Council.
Supporting the Well-being outcomes and objectives are a series of integrated planning actions which show how our policy, HR, finance, risk, procurement, ICT, property and other corporate planning activities will come together to support the delivery of the plan. We have established an Insight Board with officers from across the Council who will work together to ensure that we take a robust approach to business planning and share good practice across the Council with our partners.
