The minutes of the meeting held on 13th July, 2017 were approved as a correct record.

 

 

221     DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST –

222     MINUTES OF THE APPOINTMENTS PANEL RE STANDARDS COMMITTEE 20TH JULY, 2017 REGARDING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT MEMBER TO SERVE ON THE COUNCIL’S STANDARDS COMMITTEE –

 

RESOLVED – T H A T the minutes of the meeting of the Appointments Panel of 20th July, 2017 be noted.

 

 

223     EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC –

 

RESOLVED – T H A T under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 4 of Schedule 12A (as amended) of the Act, the relevant paragraphs of the Schedule being referred to in brackets after the minute heading.

 

 

224     PART II MINUTES OF THE APPOINTMENTS PANEL RE STANDARDS COMMITTEE 20TH JULY, 2017 REGARDING THE INTERVIEWS FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT MEMBER TO SERVE ON THE STANDARDS COMMITTEE (EXEMPT INFORMATION – PARAGRAPHS 12, 13 AND 14) –

 

The Part II minutes of the Appointments Panel meeting held on 20th July, 2017 were presented for consideration.  The Monitoring Officer also provided the Committee with a verbal update in respect of the interviews that had been undertaken by the Panel for the Independent Member position on the Standards Committee. 

 

Having considered the Part II minutes of the Appointments Panel of 20th July, 2017, the verbal update report provided by the Monitoring Officer at the meeting in relation to the interviews that had taken place and in light of the advice by the Monitoring Officer regarding the decision of the Panel, it was subsequently

 

RESOLVED – T H A T Mr. R. Hendicott be appointed as an Independent Member to the Standards Committee, the term of office to be six years.

 

Reason for decision

 

To fill the vacancy on the Standards Committee.
