Biography

Councillor Robert Fisher was elected a Vale of Glamorgan Councillor representing Cowbridge ward in May 2022.

 

He was educated at Cowbridge School before studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he achieved an Associateship of the London College of Music. He then went on to achieve BA(Hons) in Politics and also in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales.

 

He comes from a politically active family with his father being a Cowbridge Town Councillor, a former Mayor of Llanblethian and a Welsh St. Donats Community Councillor.

 

He has always, and continues to travel widely and has lived in several different countries including Denmark, Canada and Australia. He is a strong believer that travel provides a valuable perspective on one’s own country and community.

 

He has particular interests in neurodiversity, mental health and homelessness, the British countryside, the environment and our national heritage. He is also a keen supporter of the arts, in particular the theatre. Being Cowbridge born and bred he feels passionate about serving his local community.

 

He is a Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey season ticket holder.
