Is your child aged 5-11? Have you been considering Welsh-medium education? An exciting opportunity is now available through a new 12-week programme at our Welsh Language Centre.

If your child is new to the Welsh language, our Centre will allow primary-age learners to be immersed in the Welsh language and gain a level of fluency that will enable them to succeed in their Welsh-medium education journey at a Welsh-medium school in the Vale of Glamorgan.

We help:

  • Develop literacy skills across the curriculum, with a particular focus on developing listening and speaking skills

  • Provide a rich learning environment and bespoke learning resources to support learners along their journey

  • Promote all learners' awareness of Welsh culture and enrich families' experiences of the language and culture

If you would like to learn more about the Centre, read the Information Handbook for Parents and Carers.

Attending the Welsh Language Centre

Your child will spend a period of 12 weeks (not including school holidays) at the Language Centre, Monday to Thursday. Your child will attend the school where they are registered, every Friday during this period. This is to look after your child's welfare and to make sure that they have the opportunity to get to know the learners and teachers in their school.
