Education Outreach
The company supplies products and services used in applications as diverse as jet engine and wind turbine manufacture, through to dentistry and brain surgery. It is also a world leader in the field of additive manufacturing (also referred to as metal 3D printing), where it is the only UK business that designs and makes industrial machines which ‘print' parts from metal powder.
Engaging students in engineering. The great engineers of tomorrow are students in our schools today. With the help of primary and secondary school teachers (and parents…) we want to find them. This country needs more engineers. Renishaw needs more engineers!
Renishaw's Education Outreach programme offers local schools a range of activities designed to inspire young students to engage in engineering and consider it as a future career option. You never know, they might want to work at Renishaw one day.
Their comprehensive education outreach activities are completely free and aimed at Year 5 - 13. Their goal is to bring real-world context and added value to schools' science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) curricula.
Renishaw has STEM ambassadors trained to deliver a host of free education outreach activities for schools, these include:
-
Interactive, hands-on engineering workshops
-
Work experience weeks
-
Tours of Renishaw's engineering facilities
-
Support for school STEM days
-
Presentations on engineering topics at schools
-
Support for careers events
