Armed Forces Covenant Fund

The aim of the Covenant Fund is to financially support projects, at the local level, which strengthen the ties or the mutual understanding between members of the Armed Forces Community and the wider community in which they live

The Grant Scheme will consider applications for projects that deliver tangible results and meet the overall aims of the Covenant Fund. An application for funding can be submitted by any part of the community, this might include volunteer groups, charities, public bodies such as schools, and so on.

Bids are assessed by an MOD and HM Treasury panel but will require endorsement from the leading parties to the Community Covenant (see guidance notes for details of the full process) before being sent to MOD.

There are two types of grant available:

  • Small grants of up to £20,000 have a one stage application process
  • Larger grants of up to £500,000 have a two stage application process consisting of an initial Expression of Interest (EOI) and (if successful in stage one), a Business Case application

Bids can be made through the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
