Training Opportunities for Adults

Information about courses and workshops and for coaches and volunteers in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Healthy Living Team, (Sports and Physical Activity) organise a number of Council run courses and also promote courses organised by other organisations and National Governing Bodies of sport.

We work in partnership with National Governing Bodies of Sport and other organisations to offer sports specific and leadership courses. Information regarding these courses will be added to the website when appropriate; you can also contact the team to check if any further courses have been organised.

Coach / Volunteer Education 2023/2024

All Vale of Glamorgan clubs registered on our club database will receive 2 free course spaces per year. If you are a Vale of Glamorgan club and not registered on the database please register via:

to receive 1 free space per year.

Once spaces have been claimed and for all other spaces there will be a charge per person per course. The cost will be £25 per person.

Course Deadlines: There is a viability deadline for each course which is usually two weeks prior to the date. If there are not enough participants by that date the course will be cancelled so please make sure you book your spaces early.

Club Funding

All clubs affiliated to a Sports Wales recognised National Governing Body are eligible to apply for Be Active Wales Funding which can be used to pay for coaches to attend coach education courses etc.
