Fees and Charges

Information on fees and charges in Vale of Glamorgan Libraries

Borrowing books and accessing the internet from our libraries will always be free of charge, as will downloading ebooks, e-zines and digital audiobooks.

However, there are some charges associated with library membership of which to be aware.

Overdues

Books

60p a week or part of a week (up to a maximum of £6 per item). No charge for children’s items.

Talking Books

60p a week or part of a week (up to a maximum of £6 per item). No charge for children’s items.

DVD

60p a week or part of a week (up to a maximum of £6 per item)

Loan charges

Talking Books

£1.80 for three weeks (no charge for children’s items or for people who are blind or unable to read normal print)

Photocopying

Black and White

A4 - 20p a sheet

A3 - 30p a sheet

Colour

A4 - 40p a sheet

A3 - 50p a sheet

Printing

Black and white

Items in stock or obtainable within Wales: Free

Items obtained outside Wales: £6.00

Journal article obtained outside Wales: £4.00

Non-standard items obtained outside Wales

e.g. orchestra sets, play script sets, or other multi-part sets: Price On Application (per set)

Lost and Damaged Items

Books, Talking Books, DVDs etc.

Purchase price as shown in library catalogue with a minimum charge of £5.00

Library Card

If you have lost your library card, a replacement card will cost just £2.00

Other

Laminating

£1.50 to print and laminate 1 sheet of A4, £2.00 per sheet of A3, plus any photocopy or printing charge

Advertising Charges

£15.00 per month or part of a month for local business cards or other local

independent commercial advertising

Craft Activities

50p per child attending a craft activity where craft materials are required

Adult activities and events

Appropriate charge for author and other events ranging from £1 to £10
