LGBTQ+ Families Online Series – Pride Special - Chosen Family and Community

11.30:00am to 12:30pm

LGBTQ+ networks from Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan are collaborating to provide a series of informative sessions on LGBTQ+ Families with some special guest speakers on Microsoft Teams.

Our second session will explore the topic of ‘Chosen Family and Community’ to celebrate Pride Month. We’ll be joined by internal speakers from our councils who facilitate various LGBTQ+ community engagement initiatives (from LGBQ+ youth and people of colour initiatives) as well as an external speaker from The Queer Emporium. This session will also have a Q&A section towards the end.

This event is open to everyone who would like to know what is out there for LGBTQ+ people to feel less isolated and gain a sense of community.

Please note: this will be a recorded event. As an Employee Network event, you can attend as part of your working day, subject to Service Delivery.  Just let your line manager know. Employees on the Flexi Scheme do not need to Flex Out whilst attending.

Pride Cymru 2024

Pride Cymru is a LGBT pride festival held every year in Cardiff. This year the festival and Pride Parade will be held on Saturday 22nd June. 

Once again GLAM will be representing the Council at the Pride Parade. All staff are welcome to join the network alongside friends and family as they celebrate Pride.
