Vale Youth Offending Service Charity Walk

yos-logoThe Vale's Youth Offending Service have set themselves a challenge to complete 2,000,000 steps between 13-26 February.

They will walk the 1000 mile route virtually from Lands End to John O'Groats, hoping to raise a target of £1,000 - £1 for each mile!

The team are looking to raise money and awareness of the Trussell Trust who support a nationwide network of food banks and together we provide emergency food and support to people in crisis, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks.

It is also a great opportunity to encourage well being and motivate us, as some (not all) need that encouragement to increase our daily steps.

Over the 2 week period we will walk individually but there are also plans to meet up together at lunch times and also on the weekend and involve family.

We are a small team but we are looking forward to completing this together, and support, words of encouragement or a donation will be much appreciated.

Monday 20 February Update

The team are at the midway point and have completed an impressive 1,107,581 steps and are on target to complete the full 2,000,000!

They met last Sunday at Cosmeston Lake to get together and get some extra steps in over the weekend.

About the Trussel Trust

The Trussel Trust's vision is for a UK without the need for food banks.

We say this because it’s not right that anyone cannot afford their own food. That’s why we are working towards a just, compassionate future, where no one should have to use a food bank to get by.

Our vision is ambitious, but we know that if we work together it is possible. We can create a future where nobody goes hungry, because nobody will allow it – when we work Together for Change.
