World Cancer Day 2025
It’s World Cancer Day today and the theme for this year is United by Unique.
Everyone has unique needs, unique perspectives, and a unique story to tell – and people touched by cancer are united in a shared ambition to see cancer treated successfully and to lead better lives with cancer.
Around one in five people will develop cancer is their lifetime, which means everyone knows someone who was, is or will be directly impacted by cancer.
This year’s campaign seeks to encourage communities to take action and advocate for people-centred cancer care.
In the Vale, our care workers provide vital support for people needing at home care - including people living with cancer.
This also includes assisting with palliative care for those who are nearing the end of their lives.
This means that people can receive end-of-life care comfortably at home, rather than in a hospital setting.
