This week is Wales HIV testing Week!
From 18-24 November, individuals, community groups and organisations are coming together for Wales HIV Testing Week: a campaign to encourage people in Wales to get tested for HIV.
The campaign, led by Public Health Wales, urges people in Wales to take advantage of the free, confidential home test kit, which it calls “the most important home delivery you can get”.
With treatment, people living with HIV can live as long and healthily as anyone else. Treatment also prevents you from passing the virus on to others.
Getting tested is the only way to know if you have HIV – and, in Wales, it’s never been easier.
Since its introduction by Public Health Wales in 2020, the Wales-wide postal testing service has increased testing by making it easier: the confidential test kit is now free and can be delivered to your door.
Founded by volunteers in 2021, Wales HIV Testing Week has fast established itself as an effective tool in increasing testing and tackling HIV-related stigma in Wales.
Led by Public Health Wales in partnership with Fast Track Cymru and community volunteers, the campaign mobilises individuals, community groups and organisations to show that everyone in Wales can play their part in eliminating new cases of HIV by 2030.
