Diverse Meeting Tuesday November 28
Diverse Meeting: Tuesday November 28
The Diverse Network will be meeting on Tuesday November 28 from 3 – 5pm at Holton Road Primary School. We will be meeting in the café, so please use the school’s café entrance via the red door on Pyke Street (as pictured).
This month, we will be providing an update on some upcoming projects that the network has been working on.
The Chair, Martine Booker-Southard, will also be giving an update on the Anti-Racist Action Plan Research in schools across the Vale.
This week, Martine presented at a Diversity and Anti-Racist Professional Learning (DARPL) Conference, which focused on the following research question:
“To what extent does professional learning for schools contribute to Wales becoming an anti-racist nation?”
We will be exploring this question during the meeting.
November Media Club
Going forward, we would like to dedicate some time during our monthly meetings to discuss a relevant piece of media, such as an article, film, or programme.
During Tuesday’s meeting, we will be discussing:
Windrush: Rhwng Dau Fyd
This is a special episode presented by Emily Pemberton which delves into the history of the Windrush Wales generation. The programme is in Welsh, but English subtitles are also available. You can watch the programme on BBC iPlayer.
We would also love to hear about any suggestions you have for future discussions. You can submit your suggestions below:
