Armistice Day Service Thursday November 9
Armistice Day Service, Thursday November 9
06 November 2023
This week marks the 105th anniversary of the Armistice, which was an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War and marked the start of peace negotiations.
The Mayor’s Office have organised a service which will be held later this week.
On Thursday November 9 at 10.45am, the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Julie Aviet, will join the Deputy Leader, Cllr Bronwen Brooks, veterans, and other dignitaries for a wreath-laying and memorial service outside the Civic Offices.
Residents and Council staff are invited to attend the ceremony to pay their respects and show their support to the armed forces community.
If you are unable to attend the service, but you would still like to pay your respects, we will be partaking in a 2-minute silence at 11am.
