National Vegetarian Week

In line with the Council’s Project Zero pledge to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2030, the Council is supporting this year’s theme of ‘Make your Meals Better By Miles”.

The Vegetarian society is encouraging people to sign up to participate in National Vegetarian Week, 15 – 21 May and make their meals ‘miles better’.

Vale-food-trail-logo300x300Louise Goodwin, Campaign Manager for National Vegetarian Week said: “The campaign aims to engage everyone, whether you simply want to try a veggie option for just one meal or go full-on plant-based for the week.

“It’s very easy to sign up and check out all the fantastic carbon calculated recipes which show the difference you can make through the food you choose to put on your plate”.

This June, the Vale Food Trail will be showcasing the Vale’s offer of sustainable food and drink at the inaugural Vale Food Trail.

The Food Trail will take place from 09 – 18 June and includes a calendar of events designed to bring people closer to food producers and businesses in the Vale.

If you would like to participate in National Vegetarian Week, you can find a host of useful information and carbon calculated recipes on the National Vegetarian Week website.
