The event is hosted by Menter Bro Morgannwg, which was established in 2013 to promote and expand the use of Welsh language in the Vale by creating opportunities for people to use Welsh outside of work and school.

On 20 May, Menter Bro Morgannwg will once again host ‘Gwyl Fach Y Fro’ at Barry Island.

Some of the Welsh-language acts that will be performing this year include pop-rock group Gwilym, alt-pop singer Tara Bandito, master musician N’Famady Kouyaté who blends the Welsh language with West African melodies, and many more.

Alongside live music, there are also a number of workshops, shopping stalls, sports activities, and food stalls for all ages to enjoy.
