Housing Services Colleagues win at Energy Efficiency Awards

Last month, colleagues from the Council’s Housing Service’s team were celebrating after a successful night at the Regional Energy Efficiency Awards 2023.
The awards ceremony was held on 10 February at the Voco St. David's in Cardiff, where the team won an award for Large Scale Projects over £250k.
The Regional Large Scale Project of the Year Award rewards one exceptional project, in each of the 11 Regional areas around the UK.
The award recognises the efforts of all those involved locally in delivering a successful large scale energy saving project, while maintaining excellent customer service that demonstrates a high standard of quality workmanship throughout the project.
This recognition came following a successful nomination this year.
The Council was represented at the awards by Adrian Thomas. Adrian was there to collect the award along with representatives from SMK, the contractor involved in the project.
The successful project is part of the Council’s major investment in its housing stock to reduce the potential of fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions.
The successful scheme covers homes in the Glanmor, Parklands and Llantwit Major areas.
Winning the regional level provides automatic entry into the national awards, so we can all wish the team good luck in the next stages.
