Death of former Councillor Anne Moore

Dear Colleagues,
It is with great sadness that we write to inform you of the death of former councillor, Anne Moore, who passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, 6 March.
Anne served as an elected member representing the Cadoc ward in Barry for almost 30 years having previously been a town councillor. She was first elected in 1994 and stood down ahead of the last local government election held in May 2022. Anne was the wife of former Council Leader, Neil Moore, who also represented the Cadoc ward for over 30 years.
Anne held a range of positions during her time in elected office, including chair of committees and as the Mayor of Barry. Anne was known for her attention to detail, her enquiring mind and kind approach to the people she worked with.
We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Neil, Rhiannon and their whole family at this difficult time.
If you would like to share your condolences or offer some support, the family have set up a fundraising page for Marie Curie UK, who looked after Anne for a short period towards the end of her life, and who provide vital end of life care and support for families.
If you wish to pay your respects to Anne Moore, her funeral will take place at 13:30 on Thursday 30 March 2023 at A.G. Adams Funeral Home, followed by a short service at Barry crematorium at 15:00. The family will also be holding a wake at the Spinney (Seashore Grill) in Sully for drinks and refreshments.
Rob Thomas,
Chief Executive
Cllr Lis Burnett,
Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council
