Vale Disability Group - 24 January 2023

If you missed our initial callout for those interested in joining a new Staff Disability Network, there’s still a chance to get involved!

Colleagues with experience of disability, mental ill health and neurodiversity are encouraged to attend another meeting of a new staff group in a few weeks’ time.

Whether or not our disability can be seen, whether it’s a physical disability, mental ill health or because we are neuro diverse, we may have ideas on how the workplace could be improved so that everyone feels fully included and able to fulfil their potential.

Staff who consider themselves to have a disability are encouraged to come forward and share their experience, offer insights into how the workplace could be improved for them, and to create a safe space for colleagues in a similar position to get support when they need it.

Following in the footsteps of Glam, a network for LGBTQ+ staff and allies, and Diverse, which represents those of a Black, Asian and minority ethnic background, the new group will meet for the second time on Tues 24th January at 1 PM in Committee Room 2 (now called COSMESTON ROOM) at the Civic Centre.

Anyone with access needs is asked to contact Colin Davies by emailing codavies@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk
