Learn Welsh with the Vale
On St David’s Day, we want to encourage all Vale of Glamorgan staff to use Welsh in their daily working lives.
You can start by learning more about the Welsh language through the Welsh Language Awareness iDev module –

Why not challenge yourself to use Welsh every day?
Or make a team/departmental promise to start and end every meeting in Welsh (Bore Da/Hwyl fawr)?
Saying Bore Da to a colleague, use Diolch instead of Thank You in an email, greet people with Croeso in a meeting – all these words add up and help progress the Welsh language. And they make everyone saying them a Welsh speaker!
You could also sign up for a Welsh course. You can come and find out more from our Work Welsh Coordinator and Welsh Language Officer in reception on 1March 2023.
You can also start learning by following the short online taster courses available through Work Welsh. These free courses introduce everyday words and phrases, and some have even been specially designed for different sectors. Visit WorkWelsh for more information and to sign up.
