Join the Conversation about Climate Change

Wales Climate Week is an annual event which builds on the Conference of the Parties (COP) global climate change summit to encourage national and regional conversations on climate change.

The theme for this year's conversation is fairness, asking 'How do we tackle Climate Change in a fair way?'.

The event will examine the disproportionate impacts of climate change on different people, groups and places, and address how we can ensure that benefits associated with climate policies are distributed fairly across society.

As a local authority committed to tackling climate change, we will also be marking the event in the following ways.

Monday 4 December

Thank you to everyone who supported the Christmas Swap event on Monday. Around 75 items were exchanged or donated to Santa's Cause with the remaining 75 items split between the Awesome Wales Zero Waste Children's shop, Eto, on Holton Road and the new Reuse Shop at the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Barry.

A new  Reuse Shop has opened at Barry's Household Waste Recycling Centre. The shop will sell a variety of preloved items donated at the two HWRCs in the Vale. Reuse shops divert products from disposal and recycling whilst raising essential funds for the Enfys foundation. You can donate items for the shop at either of the HWRC sites in Barry or Llandow, just let a member of staff know it’s for reuse.
