Born in Barry, Moore was a former pupil of Bryn Hafren School (now Pencoedtre High). Now living in London, she has continued her painting career and her work is exhibited in museums and galleries across the Uk.
Her parents, Eira (a dancer and choreographer) and Leslie Moore (a painter) were well known in Barry. Her Father was the Vice Principal of the famous Barry Summer School an international arts school held annually during the 1960s and 70s. Moore grew up surrounded and influenced by some the most famous artists and painters of all here, in Barry and Wales.
A slide show of Sally’s art works will be on show during the discussion, while the two friends Gerda and Sally, discuss her inspirations, ideas, and her paintings. Moore has developed her work greatly over the years and is well known for her detailed paintings that usually feature the artist. Her works are unique, quirky, finely painted and illustrated reflecting her life and childhood memories.
Writer and curator, Peter Wakelin has worked closely with Moore and has written a book about the artist, Sally Moore – Acting Up. Signed copies of the book will be available to buy on the day.
