Santa’s Cause is underway!

Last week, colleagues from across the Council launched ‘Santa’s Cause’, a fundraising and gift-giving campaign that we hope will bring joy to many families in the Vale this Christmas.

Our Social Services team estimate that as many as 1500 children and young people who they support are likely to have nothing waiting for them on Christmas Day.

Santa's Cause Donations (Week One)

In true Vale spirit, we are determined to change this!

Since the launch of Santa's Cause, we have been inundated with enthusiastic messages of support and the presents have begun rolling in.

We are calling on colleagues to pull together and make sure no child goes without this year.

Within a week of the launching Santa’s Cause we have had over 50 gifts donated! Dioch!

If you wish to contribute a gift to Santa’s Cause, you can do so by dropping off an unwrapped present at one of our drop off points. You can find more information about donating gifts on the Santa’s Cause SN+ page.

Alternatively, if you would like to make a financial donation to Santa’s Cause, you can do so by submitting a cash donation at the cash desk at the Civic Offices. Please quote the payment code ‘SCCD’ to the cashier.

With the rising cost of energy, fuel and food, understandably many colleagues will be concerned about covering the cost of their own Christmas and will not be in a position to contribute to Santa’s Cause.

If you wish to get involved, you can support Santa’s Cause at no cost by sharing the campaign on social media.

We have put together a bank of social media posts and graphics that you can use to spread the word among family and friends.

As this is a staff campaign, if you wish to shout about our great cause on social media, please make it clear to family and friends that if they wish to contribute, they should do so through you.

Members of the public will not be able to drop off presents and/or make a cash payment.
