Santa’s elves are hard at work

In November, we launched ‘Santa’s Cause’, a gift-giving and fundraising campaign to provide a gift for every young person in the Vale who may otherwise go without this Christmas.

Over the last month, we have been accepting present donations and financial contributions. We are thrilled to now be in a position to provide every child with a gift this Christmas!

As we near the big day, a team of elves have been tasked with sorting through hundreds of presents at the Civic Offices to ensure they are ready to be delivered in time for Christmas.

With festive tunes on and mince pies in high supply, colleagues from across the Council have been busy packing a gift bag for each child.

In true Vale spirit, Santa’s Cause has been a huge collaborative effort.

In November we reached out to suppliers and partners to ask for their support. We were soon inundated with enthusiastic responses and have since received generous financial contributions and present donations from many local businesses: Barry Town United FC, The Entertainer - Cardiff, The Works – Barry, Romaquip, Watts Truck and Van Centre, Apollo Teaching, Hugh James Solicitors, Twenty4Seven Education, New Directions, CJ Contract Travel Services Ltd, Education Staffing Solutions Limited, LCB, Euro Commercials (South Wales) Limited, Fudge Learning, McCann and Partners, Equal Education Partners, Merricks Transport Ltd, Newydd Housing, Creigau Travel, Gibson Specialist Technical Services Limited and Parent Pay.

The joint effort of businesses and our colleagues will bring a smile to the faces of many young people this Christmas.
