Deadline Approaching for Windrush Stories Submissions

The commemoration seeks to honour the people who first docked at Tilbury in the HMT Empire Windrush ship in 1948.  Over 800 of the passengers came from the Caribbean but there were others from India, Pakistan, Kenya, and South Africa.

If you missed our initial news story, we’re launching the 'Stories of the Windrush Generation in the Vale of Glamorgan' project and want to hear the voices of those who travelled to the UK from the Commonwealth and settled in Wales (before and after 1948).

Through these stories, we want to celebrate the contributions and the invaluable legacy of the people who are first and second Windrush generations to all aspects of British life.

If you know of anyone with a story of migration, please encourage them to enter their expression of interest by Friday 23 December 2022.
