Christmas Working Arrangements
We have taken the decision to close our office facilities for non-essential frontline services over the Festive Period.
This means the offices will be closed from 4:30pm on Friday 23rd December through to the morning of Tuesday 3rd January.
Council services will still need to continue to be staffed across the organisation.
As always, Christmas is one of the busiest periods for many of our front line staff and key frontline services across all our Directorates will continue to operate, whether this relates to services such as our social care provision, waste management, emergency planning and other neighbourhood based services, housing support and C1V as well as other areas where pre-existing arrangements would continue.
It will require managers discretion to ensure sufficient staffing cover over the period, as was the case last year.
Also, as was the case last year,
- Those who are currently working in a hybrid manner and who wish to work over the period when offices are closed can continue to do so, albeit remotely – from home.
- Those who wish to take advantage of an extended break could take annual leave for the relevant period, either in full or in part, subject to the needs of the service.
Those who would ordinarily attend work for this period of time and who do not have the facilities to work for home and do not wish to take leave during this period could be adequately resourced to work from home or work in a location that remains accessible.
If you have any questions regarding these arrangements please ask your line manager, in the first instance.
