The countdown to Pride is on… and our Stonewall WEI rating is in!
With the countdown to Pride Cymru well underway, we’re pleased to announce that the Vale of Glamorgan Council was awarded the Silver Award for the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.
Colleagues and allies have put a lot of work into improving our score in recent years. This year’s thresholds were 72% for Gold and 43% for Bronze - we scored a promising 63.5% ranking us as Silver.
Feedback provided by Stonewall was very encouraging, with many areas showing potential for improvement in this year’s submission.
Overall, the Vale’s consistent progress year-on-year distinguishes us as a Council that embraces diversity and inclusion and one that works hard to address any issues for the benefit of all staff groups.
We, alongside the GLAM network, are proud to disclose these results and look forward to seeing a glint of gold in our future!
As Pride Cymru draws nearer, GLAM and the Diverse network would also like to invite colleagues to the Uni-Tea party. This will be an opportunity for you to meet with the networks and discuss their work, find out more about what you can do as an ally and register your interest to march in Pride.
For those who’d like to take part, there will also be a craft station where you can design and decorate placards for the march.
The Uni-Tea event takes place on 10 August, from 3-6pm in the Council Chamber, Civic Offices.
