Week four of Miles For Ukraine

Ukraine - SN Banner

On April 5, we achieved our 1,775 mile target, and the new challenge became making the return journey back to Barry.

As of today, we have collectively travelled 2,337.34 miles on our virtual journey to Ukraine. Only 1,212 miles to go!

Your donations and fundraising efforts have so far raised £1,559.

Since the war broke out, schools from across the Vale have organised a range of fundraising events, including cake sales, sponsored cycle rides, donation collections, wrist band sales, sponsored silences, and blue and yellow themed clothing days.

To date, a total of 14 schools have raised an amazing £10,357 for the cause.

Participating schools:

  • All Saints Primary School, Barry

  • Whitmore High School, Barry

  • Holton Primary School, Barry

  • Palmerston Primary School, Barry

  • St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School, Barry

  • Peterston Super Ely Primary School, Cardiff

  • Cogan Primary School, Cogan

  • Cogan Nursery, Cogan

  • Cowbridge Comprehensive School, Cowbridge

  • Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, Cowbridge

  • Llangan Primary School, Cowbridge

  • St Illtyd Primary School, Llantwit Major

  • Victoria Primary School, Penarth

The money that the Schools and Council have raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to help deliver shelter, food, water and other essentials to those who are escaping the war.
