Can you help our residential services team?

Residential services managers are calling on staff to help promote and share urgent vacancies in the social care work area.

There are permanent and relief positions, including:

• Care Assistant - Grade 3 £9.81
• Cook - Grade 4 £10.01 to £10.41
• Kitchen Assistant - Grade 1 £9.43

We are particularly keen to hear from those with previous experience of working within residential care homes or within the health or care sector.

Above all, we want to hear from people who are passionate about helping and working within the community. The Council’s aim and objective is to improve our residents’ life experience and overall wellbeing by providing a quality service in a safe and homely environment.

Marijke Jenkins, Operational Manager for Residential Services said:

“Since the start of the coronavirus crisis, a lot of work has been done to celebrate the invaluable work of our social care workers. They have played, and continue to play, a key role in protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

“We really need more people to be joining our teams, whether it’s on a flexible or full-time basis. We’re asking staff to share the word with people who might be able to help. Ideally, we’d like to recruit those with previous care experience or experience of working with Dementia. 

“We also have positions available for new recruits, where training will be provided.”

Staff will be offered the basic salary plus enhancements:

• Monday – Friday (00:00 to 06:00; 22:00 to 24:00) - Time & a third
• Saturday (07:00 to 22:00) - Time & a quarter
• Saturday (00:00 to 06:00; 22:00 to 24:00) - Time & a half
• Sunday (07:00 to 22:00) - Time & a half
• Sunday (00:00 to 06:00; 22:00 to 24:00) Time & three quarters.

Plus, time in LIEU for time worked on each of the 8 statutory holidays. As well as this you will be entitled to the local government pensions scheme and many other great benefits.
