SRS Awards Success
Shared Regulatory Services colleagues have been recognised at two separate awards events recently.

The work of the Shared Regulatory Services partnership, which consists of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Cardiff Council and Bridgend Council has been rewarded, with them having achieved three PawPrints awards for their work with animals. For 2021, the judges recognised the service with a Gold Stray Dogs Award, a Silver Licensing Award and a Bronze Dog Kenneling Award.
PawPrints is run by the RSPCA to recognise local authorities, housing associations, contingency planners and other public sector organisations that go above and beyond basic or statutory requirements to ensure higher welfare standards for animals in the services they provide.
As well as recognising the work of the service with these awards, the RSPCA took the additional step of writing to the Leader of the Council, Councillor Neil Moore, to share the news and remark on how impressed they have been with the service. The Leader said in response:
"I am delighted and extremely proud of the achievement by our SRS colleagues. The team are extremely committed and work tirelessly around the issue of animal welfare."
On top of this achievement, Jemma Cox, one of SRS' Business Engagement Officers, has also been recognised by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI).
Jemma sat two professional examinations back in 2019, however, as a result of the disruption caused by the pandemic, she has only recently had notification that she was to receive two awards in recognition of achieving the highest score nationally for the Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards (DCATS) and also the highest score for the Intellectual Property exam paper.
Jemma received the following awards:
• The Trading Standards Qualifications Framework Regina Kibel Award for 2019
• The Anti-counterfeiting Group (ACG) Award for Student of the Year
These were presented to her at the CTSI Symposium in Birmingham on 29 September.
Helen Picton, Operational Manager for Enterprise and Specialist Services, wanted to congratulate Jemma on her outstanding performance, saying:
"The Chartered Trading Standards Institute awards received by Jemma are richly deserved. Having outstanding performance recognised by not one but two national awards is impressive; understanding that Jemma has attained this success while at the same time balancing the needs of a demanding role and young family is nothing short of incredible. I couldn’t be prouder of Jemma and all that she has achieved.”
