Calling all parents and carers who use childcare in Wales
Calling all parents and carers who use childcare in Wales!
We are currently carrying out a comprehensive assessment of childcare in the Vale of Glamorgan, as required by the Welsh Government, and would love to hear from you.
7 October, 2021
All Local Authorities in Wales have a statutory duty to assess childcare in their area every five years.
We are currently carrying out a range of consultations with a variety of stakeholders, including parents and carers, childcare providers, children and young people and employers.
The aim is to assess the current levels of childcare within the Vale. Any gaps identified will then inform an Action Plan to support future work within childcare.
If you're a parent or carer who uses childcare in the Vale of Glamorgan please complete this short survey and have your say today.
We want to understand more about your childcare needs, be it for young children or older children needing before and after school or holiday care.
We want to hear about your experience of finding suitable childcare as this will help us plan for the future.
Debbie Maule, Children's Partnership Coordinator, said:
"We appreciate that the past 18 months have been a real challenge for parents juggling working from home and childcare requirements, when many childcare providers had been required to close or had limited availability for emergency key workers' children.
"As the childcare sector starts to recover and move forward, it is now even more important for us to have the view of parents, prospective parents and carers regarding their childcare requirements. Please be as open and honest as possible so that we have an overview of the bigger picture."
The survey is open until midnight on 31 October 2021.
